I recall a number of our conversations and was especially heartbroken when you left BUSth for your work in MCC. I urged you to stay and try to reform the UMC from within. Ah, how foolish I was! I guess that might be the calling of some folks-- but found it didn't work for me, either. I graduated in 1976 and returned to Central PA Conf. as a local pastor-- in a tiny town near the NY/PA border. There, I met my life partner, Kay-- we've been together since 1977! She is 20 years older than I am and now dealing with mid-stage dementia. I am now a Unitarian Universalist and working as a licensed social worker in hospice care near Harrisburg, PA. I have often thought of you so fondly when I've read about your work now and again in MCC and in the fight for marriage equality.
