I will check my photos to see what I have on this event. I was there, and do remember it so well. We would have over 1000 people on Sunday morning with standing room only! And the great sermons that Troy preached are legendary for our community. This church building was the greatest MCC ever had, none have ever surpassed it in spirit or attendance. Our community was so hungry for God and to hear the messages that God does love us as we are in His spirit. No one will ever know the influences that MCC had on the spiritual lives of the masses that attended. Troy is a Saint for all his efforts to stand up to the hatred and bigotry of that day. I was also there after the big fire, and Troy proclaimed we would rebuild which we did at another location in downtown LA. But it was never the same, our mother church was gone and our spirit was wounded. It’s taken a lot of time and energy by so many to reclaim our faith and position in the Christian Community. If nothing else we have opened so many doors in other churches that were traditionally closed to us. Many of us were literally thrown out of the churches of our youth, some never to return to any church in their lives.

Thank you all for continuing the fellowship and work for the Lord in all the places in the world. It’s a shame but we have lost the flagship church here in Hawaii. Perhaps one day it can be reestablished, there is still the need and hunger for the Spirit of the Living God in all our lives.

    Aloha from Hawaii!
